preliminary study about globalisation

We are preliminary know that globalization is a kind of process that (with the development of technical, reconfiguration of states and regionalization goes together) the production, reception and communication of media content will not be limited to a geographic era from first week study (What is globalization?”2003).

We clearly find some reasons about why globalization could happen: capital reason like import and export; physical reason like people move from a place to another (especially across national boundaries); culture reason like language, music, movie and religion; media reason like internet and so on.

About the consensus of globalization, people still have lots controversies: like does globalization exist? Is globalization a long term historical process or just recently? (Pieterse, J, 2004, pp.8)

Well, we cannot conclude or give the answer yet but something still can be predicted: for example, local culture gradually enriched as a result of new culture stimulus or produce creatively culture-blended. However, globalization also will have some negative impact like threatening the identity, integrity and autonomy of cultural.

The first time I came to Australia I can see Australia is a mix cultural country even I did not know it’s a country of immigrants before. People (who come from different places) keep their traditional cultural although everyone speaks English. You can see it from food obviously: Chinese restaurants, Greece restaurants, Arabia restaurants and Sushi bar everywhere but no Australian restaurants. Globalization just likes Australia, it will give you a chance to accept lots of different things but you probably lost your identity one day.
